Motherland Travel and Starfish will travel together again in 2016!
After participating in the second annual Starfish Volcan-o-thon we knew we needed more. Starfish’s mission to empower young Mayan women in Guatemala through education and mentorship speaks to us. The Volcan-o-thon last year was an incredible opportunity to learn more about Starfish’s work to unlock the girl effect in the indigenous communities around Lake Atitlan. Our recent travelers spent three days with the Starfish group in the Lake Atitlán area and cannot wait to go back. We will be working with Starfish throughout the year but in particular we are organizing a small group trip in 2016 that will spend 3 days immersing ourselves in the Mayan culture of Lake Atitlán and these amazing young Estrellitas! Motherland Travel will participate in Heritage Camps of Colorado
